Scottish Rite Philanthropies
A duty of all Masons is to support various "Masonic" philanthropies so far as they can. These philanthropies most often do not require the recipient to be a Mason or family of a Mason. Probably the
best-known Masonic philanthropies are the Shrine Hospitals. The Shrine is not alone in doing "Good Works". The "Blue Lodges" have their philanthropies as do the York Rite and the other appendant bodies to masonry. We of the Southern Jurisdiction of the Ancient &
Accepted Scottish Rite have as one of our major philanthropy dyslexia research and educational material for students and adults with the disorder which causes the brain to not interpret the written word in the same manner as happens for most of us.
